It is going to be quite the change for me to rise before 9 and fall into a schedule that does not allot for random walks with Louie and spur of the moment retail therapy. My glimpses of responsibility now become my reality--as of 8:30 tomorrow morning, that is.
Tomorrow, I will begin an executive internship at Sq1 Agency, formerly Square One. Located in the heart of the West End in Dallas, Sq1 is everything I believe in as an advertiser--forward-thinking, quirky, creative and full of energy. The first time I interviewed for the position, I honestly felt that energy mixed with hints of cheerful banter and youthful modern decor as I passed the Hulk and, although unknowingly, began my transition into the real world.
Notions on the day before the big day:
- Louie--Although Yorkies are prone to separation anxiety, I think mine may be a bit worse as I've never been away from him for too long. (Sq1 is dog-friendly, and hopefully once I get my head wrapped around things, I can bring him in for a visit.)
- Mornings--enough said. (This may surprise you, but I chose to start at 8:30, in the am.)
- Errands--I know this is totally ridiculous, but I feel like school and errands take up the majority of my day.
For me, only having three concerns is nothing! I have so much excitement for this next step in my life and I can't wait to share it with you. Although it may not be as emotional as India, I am hopeful that it will be just as interesting and alter my perspective once again.
To the next big thing.
DISCLAIMER: Before you begin reading this and think, "Oh wow..20 hours a week. I wish this girl would just stop blogging," you have to realize what I've been doing up until now. For the past six years, I had a deal with my lovely parents, where school was my work. (Don't get me wrong, I have interned and done some freelance work, not to mention graduate school, which at times, seems like a full-time job; however, that all seemed like part of my education.)
